If you have spacing issues like crowding or gaps, or if your teeth are mildly to moderately misaligned, Invisalign can whip your smile into shape by gently moving teeth into more ideal positions. To start, we take molds of your teeth that we send off to a lab. We also talk with you about your goals for your smile, and we use that to design your ideal smile. That design gets sent off to the lab, too, so they know what we’re working toward. The lab makes your Invisalign orthodontic trays a few sets at a time and sends them to us.
You’ll wear each set for at least 22 hours a day for about two weeks, and then switch to the next set in the series. As you move through your sets, you’ll notice your teeth gradually move and your smile straighten. Every 4-6 weeks, you’ll visit our office for a check-in appointment and to get your next few sets of aligners. This lets us make sure that your treatment is progressing and that we can answer any questions you might have. The average treatment time is about one year, but we’ll discuss your expected treatment length at your consultation. Rest assured that it will all be worth it in the end, and you’ll have a smile you’ll love showing off!
